Longines FEI Rising Star – Alice Casburn

“Based at her small family yard in Norfolk, the freshly crowned team gold medallist and individual bronze winner at the FEI Eventing European Championship for young riders, Alice Casburn, is certainly the definition of a rising star.

Alongside taking part in prestigious championships in her age category, she is also busy successfully meddling with the eventing elite at CCI5* and CCI4* events such as Burghley where she came fifth, as well as Little Downham and Blair Castle where she claimed second place each time. Her championship horse Topspin was bred by her mother and trained by Alice herself, making this dream team a true family affair”

Cavalor Best Groom – Kerry Edmans – Groom for Tim and Jonelle Price

“Kerry, also known as “Kez” grew up in the same small village of Oxford as Tim Price. Her mother even used to help out with Tim’s horses back in the day.

In 2013, Kerryn joined Tim’s stables in a bid to gain overseas work experience and remained there until 2016. She then went on to work as a veterinary technician for three years before she got the grooming bug again and returned to Tim’s stables and has been there ever since. According to Tim and Jonelle, having two bosses that are quite different athletes could be a challenge for some, but Kerryn handles it effortlessly!

She is great at running the yard, dealing with all the pressure, preparing for numerous competitions at the same time, grooming at the world’s biggest events and she shows unlimited empathy for the horses she cares for. According to her those supporting her nomination, Kerryn tunes in to all the subtleties required when it comes to performance and always represents herself, the horses and Tim and Jonelle perfectly, in interviews or in front of a camera. All grooms work countless hours but very few do it with a smile on their face and such a positive attitude. Kerryn’s work ethic is one of a kind and she is one of the most knowledgeable, kind and generous in the field”.

Have your say - If you want your heroes to have the chance of being celebrated for all their hard work, commitment, dedication and achievements. The voting phase runs from 6th - 16th October.
