Amanda back on the podium again!
The relatively new combination of Dicavalli Diesel and Amanda Ross achieved their first big win together today in the Horseland CCI2*at the Australian International 3 Day Event
The pair had 7.1 penalties in hand and they used five of them when one rail fell and they added one time penalty. Judy Clarke and Diablito had piled the pressure on by jumping a beautiful clear round to finish in second place and, although Sam Lyle had four faults on the third placed Glenorchy South Park, he also jumped a clear round on Satch Hill to finish in seventh place as well.
Judy Clarke and her lovely Diablito took second place
Sam topped off a very good event by winning the Best Placed Off the Track thoroughbred prize for Glenorchy South Park, a horse he only started riding ten days before the event when his usual jockey, Niki Rose asked Sam to take on the catch ride
It's been a while since Sam competed here but he made it very worthwhile
The fourth, fifth and sixth placed combinations of Andrew Cooper on Fairbanks Cappucino, Cindy Lyall on the popular GI Joe and Madeline Wilson riding I’m Bruce also jumped foot perfect rounds in front of the packed Heritage Grand Stand and VIP Marquees. The sixth place earned Madeline the Schockemohle Sport CCI2* Australian Young Rider title along with a swag of goodies and an impressive orange rug
Come back Madeline - you've forgotten the cheque!
But it was Amanda Ross that took the big title of the morning – the Horseland CCI2* Australian Three Day Event Champion and this is how she did it
More to come from the CCI2* championship in coming days ...
