Stuart Tinney was last year's winner - who will take home the large (in more ways than one) cheque in 2012?

How time flies! With the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and the 2012 HSBC Classic Series season over, we now look forward to the 2013 season which starts at Les Etoiles de Pau in France from 24–28 October.

More importantly for Australian-based riders and spectators, the second event of the season is the Australian International 3 Day Event in beautiful downtown Adelaide from 22–25 November.

Event director Gill Rolton has been busy over the past few months as a member of the ground jury at London 2012 and judging in Malmo, Sweden, but she is now back in Australia and things are in full swing heading towards Adelaide.

We caught up with Paul Tapner, Clayton Fredericks, Sam Griffiths and Chris Burton while we were in the UK and they are all looking forward to being back home in November at this great event

There are obviously other important visitors in the shape of William Fox-Pitt and, from closer to home, the Double Dans as well as lots of other entertainment

One of the best ways to watch the event is with a grandstand pass. The newly-restored Heritage Grandstand is a lovely shady spot to watch the dressage, showjumping and masterclasses. On cross-country day the start, finish and first and last fences will be on the Heritage oval with plenty of viewing of the rest of the action on the big screens. Tickets include general admission entry, program, grandstand seating, masterclasses and the daily start/score list. A three day grandstand adult pass is $160.
