Crystal Conning is a young rider from Victoria who rode her own horse Marcus Aurelius in the CCI4* at the Australian International 3 Day Event in 2011 and 2012. Marcus Aurelius was a fairly small horse – only 15.1hh but this year Crystal was riding Emma Scott’s big chestnut horse Mustang in the CCI2*.
Crystal and Mustang had a great event, moving up from 13th after dressage into fifth with a double clear cross country round and finishing off with a beautiful clear show jumping round for third place.
We caught up with Crystal and Emma just before the presentation (and, yes, Mustang is another horse for sale)
