Stuart Tinney's wife, Karen, gladly holds the cheque for last year's win at Adelaide!
With a total of $120,000 prize money across the classes at this year’s Australian International 3 Day Event in Adelaide, there is bound to be big interest from riders with top CCI 2* and 4* horses.
The Horseland CCI 2* class offers the biggest prize money, a $15,000 pool, of any CCI 2* class in Australia while the winner of the CCI 4* will take away a $35,000 cheque as well as grabbing a host of valuable points for the FEI HSBC Classic Series
The Australian International 3 Day Event became a part of the FEI HSBC Classic Series last year although HSBC has supported the series since 2008. The organisation will contribute US$1 million over the next three years, making this the biggest prize pot on offer in the sport of eventing on an annual basis.
William Fox-Pitt narrowly won the 2012 Series this month, just one point ahead of Andrew Nicholson, to pocket the US$150,000 prize. Stuart Tinney, the highest placed Australian and last year’s winner in Adelaide, finished fifth to earn US$25,000 despite only competing in one of the six events that comprise the Series
