If Christmas is just over 12 weeks away it means the Australian International 3 Day Event is even closer and a quick check of the calendar tells me that it’s only seven weeks away. Not long to go then before thousands of keen eventing fans make their way to Victoria Park for what is the only CCI4* in this part of the world.
Chris Burton will be coming back from UK to enjoy some Australian sunshine
The Australian International 3 Day Event gives us all a chance to catch up with several Australian riders who are now based overseas - but who can’t resist the chance to be part of one of our prestigious events. Of course it could also be the fact that the European eventing season will be over by that time and the riders will be desperate to move away from their cold winter and enjoy some summer sunshine! Whatever the reason, it is lovely to have them take part and support this event.
A reminder to those of you who want to really do the event in style to buy your VIP tickets now. This will allow you to be in all the right places at the right time and mix with the rich and famous (the rest of us will just have to hope we meet the rich and famous as they walk towards the VIP area!)
The Southern Stars Eventers Party gives everyone the chance to mingle and as the night goes on I’m sure visiting event rider Paul Tapner will have something ‘up his sleeve’ to spur on the enthusiastic party goers.

We can also look forward to some ‘stick and ball’ action with Twilight Polo in the Park on Friday night, where teams of elite polo players from SA and VIC will battle it out to see who can win the inaugural ‘Polo in the Park’ trophy.
And did we mention the actual eventing – well yes of course there will be some of that as well! We can’t wait to see who is entered in both the CCI2* and the CCI4* but especially the 4* event as these riders will be hoping to impress the Australian selectors in a bid for WEG selection.
John Lechner will be there as part of our team and is always keen to get in the best possible spot for taking photos!
