It’s great to welcome Mike Etherington-Smith back to Adelaide as the cross country course designer at a venue which has very specific opportunities and challenges
Mike says his first love is course designing and he certainly has plenty of experience to call on, having created courses for the Sydney 2000 and Beijing Olympics as well as the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010 to name just a few. However he is also busy at the event keeping an eye on riders in his role as an eventing selector for Equestrian Australia and has been helping out other Australian course designers, such as Ewan Kellett who is shadowing Mike here in Adelaide
Mike and Ewan are also heavily involved with the creation of the new course at Wallaby Hill and we talk to them both about what they have been up to in recent times
