Quick CCI2 Star update from Adelaide

Shane and Shanghai Joe started the day off

Shane Rose was the pathfinder on the CCI2* course with Shanghai Joe the first horse on course in the Horseland CCI 2*. We caught up with Shane to find out how the first ride of the day went

At the end of the day Shane finished in seventh and eighth on APH Rusalka and Shanghai Joe respectively while Stuart Tinney stole the lead on Annapurna (more about Stuart's fantastic day coming up) when the overnight leader Judy Clarke had a run out on Diablito.

Cassie Lowe is in second place on Koko Doro and eleventh on Koko Black

Cassie Lowe also moved a place into second on Koko Doro while Ali Foye and Kung Fu Panda (below) jumped from 10th to third place.

Isabel Houghton still leads the Dublin Australian Young Rider Championships on Mohito after a smoking round putting her into fourth place overall and the diminutive Crystal Conning on Emma Scott’s rangy chestnut, Mustang is in fifth.

Victorian Chris Height also moved up the leader board despite inflating his air jacket early in the course and riding Devil’s Mistress around most of the 2* course feeling a bit puffed up. Luckily he is sponsored by Southern Stars Saddlery so they just got another air vest for him for later! Chris finished the day in sixth place

(Above) Whoops! There goes the rip cord and up blows the vest (below)

More to come about the day on cross country in our full report later tonight and Libby’s photo gallery with some amazing shots from today!
