Alice Casburn and Topspin - European Young Rider Championships 2022

20-year-old British rider Alice Casburn took the Longines FEI Rising Star Award at the 2022 FEI Awards, after a year of stellar achievements with her home bred horse Topspin

Not only was Alice the youngest rider at both the Badminton and Burghley Horse Trials in 2022, finishing in 19th and fifth place at the two big British events, but she was also part of the gold medal winning British team at the FEI Eventing European Championships for Young Riders at Hartpury in July 2022.

Alice and Topspin’s faultless jumping performances earned them Individual bronze, the only combination to finish on their dressage score in the Young Rider Championships, after making the cross country course (above) look easy and jumping double clear on the final day

To finish off their successful year, Alice was also the recipient of  The Sir John Burder Trophy, given to the highest placed British rider in the Young Riders Championship, and the Edy Goldman Trophy, awarded to the British U21 rider gaining the most points throughout the year, presented at the 2022 British Eventing Awards Ceremony
