Lovers of all types of horse- power will be heading south-east of Melbourne through the town of Tooradin this weekend. Not only will nearby Phillip Island be crazy with motorbikes for the Moto GP, but eventers will be making their way to the Tooradin Estate for the 24th Annual Tooradin Horse Trials.
With the event committee, led by Lance and Joan Hodgins, putting the finishing touches on the lovely sandy property owned by Derry Francis, they are looking forward to another successful event for the 230 riders competing in the Preliminary to CNC** classes. Event Secretary, Joan, passed comment that “we have had huge entries this year with all classes having waiting lists”.
Despite the wet weather forcing the use of the “Tooradin short course” for the cross county to ensure optimal going, Cross Country Course Designer and Builder John Barlee is confident that his vamped-up courses will provide adequate challenges.
