Andrew Hoy will take up the ride on Lanfranco TSF, the 4* horse previously ridden by his ex-wife Bettina
Lanfranco TSF, the talented but sometimes tricky 14-year-old Trakehner gelding previously ridden by top German rider and Andrew’s ex-wife Bettina Hoy, has returned to the ownership of Hoy Enterprises Ltd and will be competed in the future by Andrew
Lanfranco finished 10th at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials CCI4*in 2012 but has been, as Bettina told us in our interview last year, “the most complex character horse-wise that I’ve ever had to deal with”. At Burghley in 2014 Bettina retired during the dressage phase when Lanfranco started to rear during the test
In a statement released to the press Andrew says "I'm looking forward to getting to know Lanfranco TSF and commencing our relationship. It is always exciting to add a new horse to my string," and that “Hoy Enterprises Ltd would like to thank Bettina Hoy for the work she has put into the education and development of the horse”
Lanfranco TSF arrives at Andrew’s new yard in Leicestershire this week and he plans to start competing the horse later this year.
As Andrew is of the most experienced riders in the world, it will be interesting to see how the new partnership fares and we look forward to following their progress. Meanwhile Bettina has two very talented up and coming stars with Seigneur Medicott and Designer 10 and Andrew is aiming for a berth on the Australian team at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy with his current team of horses
