Another Australian horse for Emily King

Emily and Brookleigh had a good start to senior competition in 2014 at Barbury

Emily King, who we spoke to in 2014 about starting her senior eventing career, has an exciting year to look forward to with new horses, including one from Australia.

In addition to the Australian horse Brookleigh (formerly owned by Nikki Brooks and ridden by Clayton Fredericks), Walitze F Vejgard and Charlemagne two new horses have been added to the stable thanks to supportive owners. Parone Cjaval, who also owns Brookleigh, has bought the six year old chestnut Drago and Zara Porterhill has purchased the Australian horse Loxley; both horses will be campaigned by Emily

Loxley, previously owned by Michelle Clough, is well known in Australia as the former ride of Amanda Ross who had considerable success on him and his stable mate William Wordsworth, also owned by Michelle. In 2013 the two chestnut horses, ridden by Amanda, were third and fourth at the Melbourne International 3 Day Event but they had limited outings in 2014 after Michelle returned home in the UK. Loxley arrives in England this week – let’s hope he’s well wrapped up coming from the somewhat warmer climes of Australia!

Watch Amanda and Loxley's cross country ride at the 2013 Melbourne 3 Day Event here - we will be videoing at over 30 competitions in the UK this year and we're looking forward to seeing Loxley and Emily out and about on course
