Cross country is well underway
As the Centennial Vineyards CIC* gets underway the EvA80 classes are all done and dusted with those riders happy to sit in the shade watching the higher levels start their cross country.
The fence that seemed to cause most of the problems in the EvA80 class was fence 10 – the eyebrow, which saw a few riders walk home but generally the course seemed to jump pretty well.
Our own blogger Kate Mackenzie was a very happy lady after going clear in the EvA105
The Gladiator Floats EvA80 Division A was won by Joel Funell riding Balthazar who finished on his dressage score of 43.8, while second placed Nicky Turner also finished on her dressage score. Nicky has the added task of managing to split her time between riding and being a mum to their very cute little girl Ava.
Andrew Barnett continues his run of great results by clocking up a win in the Horsewerks EvA80 Division B riding Bradgate Park Dante. Leading from yesterdays dressage on a score of 31.2 even a couple of rails down in the show jumping and a couple of time penalties still left him in the lead a couple of marks ahead of second placed Greg Nowak.
One of the trade stands at Berrima
In the junior EvA80 sponsored by Bowral Co-op Kelsey Szczepanik will be taking home the winners rug for her little horse Daddy’s Dollars, while Ruby Haylock enjoyed a second place. You may remember we featured Ruby is a slightly muddy state some time ago at the last Berrima event so it’s good to see her finish in a cleaner state!
Jumping out of the water
The Main Event Photography EvA80 (amateur) class is always popular and 26 riders keenly fought out this class with local rider Melinda Blair, riding La Diva, winning the class ahead of Inger Sutherland and Springfield Miracle.
Jean Findlay, who will soon be jetting over to UK to watch her horse Holstein Park Leilani run at Badminton, takes some time to enjoy the view at Berrima
