Chris surrounded by Channel 7 cameras after his win in Adelaide - this time it will be Channel 9 showing Eventing in the Park
UK based Chris Burton has proved once again that he is the catch rider extraordinaire after winning the Grand Prix class at Perth’s Eventing in the Park yesterday. Chris was the rider closest to optimum time in the Grand Prix, a course of show jumps and fixed obstacles up to 1.15m (excluding the Joker), riding Jess Manson’s Two Chances, a 6 year old thoroughbred Jess bought from Tasmania in January.
Jess of course won the Australian International 3 Day Event recently, which Chris won in 2013 on another catch ride, TS Jamaimo. Jess competed in the Grand Prix on her 4* winner Legal Star, coming fifth but it seems she gave the wrong horse to Chris! However, she still gets to win a $4,500 saddlery voucher which is not bad for an afternoon’s work – here are the top 10 placings and what they won in the Grand Prix
