The Pakenham Produce CIC3* took place in one of the two indoor schools at Tonimbuk starting at 5pm and running through till 7.45pm. Megan Jones was the second rider into the arena on Kirby Park AllofaSudden and it turned out that her neat, polished test would be the one to beat – and indeed it didn’t get beaten. Megan also filled second place, this time riding the crowd pleaser Kirby Park Irish Jester. Both of Megan’s horses were looking fit and well and happy to receive the attention the crowd gave them at the end of their tests. Lying third is Edith Kane on ESB Irish Justice who produced a very nice test, nothing outstanding but accurate and correct and well ridden.
The Pakenham Produce CCI2* attraced a field of 17 with the test of the day coming from Juana Andreou riding Sunvalley Donnerhe (pictured below). Juana is an up and coming young rider who was recently named as a member of the 2012 National Youth squad and last year was voted amateur rider of the year by the Victorian Eventers Association. Her test with Donnerhe, who was previously ridden by Amanda Ross, was neat and obedient and scored her a mark of 54.7
In second place on 56.4 was the impressive grey Corambo ridden by Finnish rider Dominic Ingvall, who is based at her property Kitara Lodge in NSW. Dominic (pictured below) has ridden Corambo to several good placings and the pair also took part in the exhihibition eventing final at Equitana last year where they finished third. Although Corambo still looks a little downhill at times he looks to have all the ability to produce a good three star test as his career progresses.
Will Enzinger was looking forward to a busy weekend with three horses in the 2* class and one in the CIC*. He saved his best test in the CIC2* until the end of the class finishing third on Ruban Son (pictured below) on a score of 58.6. This combination were second at Lakes and Craters CCI2* at the end of last year and finished seventh in the CIC* at Tonimbuk last year.
After the dressage phase of the Pakenham Produce CIC* Adam Benson was leading the class on a score of 40.2 riding Brookwood Park Feuergress. Will Enzinger was pleased with his test on Wenlock Aquifer which saw him finish second on 42.6, while Chelsea Priestley and Blamitonthebear are lying third on a score of 44.8.
