The MJET team is here!
Tonimbuk Horse Trials is ready to start – cross country course designer Ewan Kellett was there today (more from Ewan about this year’s course coming up soon) making last minute checks, the dressage arenas were laid out and being measured by FEI Steward Chris Wallis (a woman of many talents!), the flower ladies were busy and the trucks and floats were rolling in.
Many of the South Australian contingent had arrived after an overnight trip - Megan Jones stretched her horses’ legs and the MJET team are excited about a new naming rights sponsorship for one of their horses with a major equestrian brand – but more of that coming up soon (hint, think Ingrid Klimke, Sam Watson and you’re on the right track ........)
Megan heads the draw for the 14 riders in the CIC3* riding Kirby Park Impress who recently won the CNC3* at Sydney Summer Classic Weekend. Other ones to watch in this class will be the Australian International 3 Day Event CCI2* winner, Dicavalli Diesel ridden by Amanda Ross in his first 3* start, local rider Katja Weimann on her 4* horse BP Flamboyant and last year’s winner here Tania Harding riding Jirrima Yorkshire
There are a large number of entries in the CIC2* and CIC1* and the EvA80, EvA95 and EvA105 classes are jam packed with keen riders starting the autumn season. It has been an unusually sultry start to autumn in this area with lots of steady rain in the past 24 hours which has soaked into the ground well so the going should be good and just a few showers are forecast in the next couple of days.
It’s time for Tonimbuk ..............
The flower ladies set about dressing the arenas for tomorrow's dressage phase as the grooms plait up and the big sign is put in place - we'll see you there or you can follow all the news on An Eventful Life
