Winners are grinners! The CIC3* presentation of riders with Nikki Harwood
On the 4th and 5th April 2015 Western Australia (WA) presented the W.A.Y.E.R Olga Reveler Memorial CIC event - the second time that W.A.Y.E.R has been held at Brigadoon, the State Equestrian Centre. W.A.Y.E.R was previously run at Brookleigh Estate with the kind support of Nikki Harwood and her late mother Olga Reveler however, due to the sale of these grounds, the committee had to move to the event to Brigadoon. In 2014, along with Eventing WA Promotions Inc, The Brigadoon Working Group and the State Equestrian Centre W.A.Y.E.R presented a world class, newly built designed 2* and 3* track by international course designer, John Nicholson (NZ) at Brigadoon.
In 2015, with the guidance of John Nicholson, Martin Hellier also helped to upgrade the EvA105 and 1* tracks and W.A.Y.E.R were again proud to present a course that is world class. The president of the Ground Jury Christina Klingspor from Sweden along with Australian ground jury members Lyn Roycroft and Elaine Green were most impressed with the course as well as the standard of the competitors that WA presented in all grades and across all phases.

W.A.Y.E.R is committed to continually upgrading these courses at the State Grounds, as well as the progression of Western Australian Young Event Riders -which is what the acronym of the club stands for. This would not have been possible without the vision of PollyAnn Huntington who is the Chair of the club and this vision is helping WA is becoming a very competitive State in Australian eventing with many WA riders being in high contention for the Oceania Championships for both Senior and Young Riders.
The Albury CIC in NSW and the W.A.Y.E.R CIC were both selection events for these Championships and the following riders on the Australian short-list delivered these impressive results at the WAYER event:
CIC 3* - Jess Manson 4th place (SNR)
CIC 2* - Kenya Wilson 1st place (YR), Shenae Lowings 6th (YR)
We wish our WA riders the best of luck in the selection process.
