Equestrian Victoria has received a $35,000 Victorian Government funding package through the Significant Sporting Events Program; a program that helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria.
The funding was announced on Tuesday by the Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation, Hugh Delahunty, at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, where Equestrian Victoria hosts the many of its equestrian competitions throughout the year.
Equestrian Victoria has said they will use the grant to boost the profile of the upcoming Melbourne International Three-Day-Event (7th – 10th June) and the Australian Showjumping Championships (19th – 22nd September).
Equestrian Victorian CEO, Greg Pratt, welcomed the State Government’s support and said it looked forward to working with Sport and Recreation Victoria to strengthen the state’s equestrian calendar.
