The lush slopes of Fig Tree Pocket await the competitors
The 2014 CIC Queensland State Eventing Championships will be held at the Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club this weekend on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October.
Hosted by the Fig Tree Pocket Committee, this is one of the few FEI events in Queensland and there is $12,000.00 in prizes on offer which should get the almost 200 competitors excited.
Classes range from Introductory through to CIC 2* with past Olympian Rebel Morrow as one of the hot favourites in the top class riding It’s Mitch and Hillgrove Enviable in the Equestrian Queensland CIC2*. However, anything can happen in eventing and whoever wins out in this class will be taking home $1,000 in cash as well as well as the Queensland title
Entry is free and spectators are encouraged to come along to the well known venue which is only 10 minutes from central Brisbane. The recently upgraded cross country course winds through 40 acres of riverfront parks, providing the perfect spot for a picnic while watching all riders tackle the course on Sunday from 8am. For those who prefer to grab a bite to eat at the event, there will be hot and cold food available both days as well as home baked goodies
As, they say – Queensland is beautiful one day and perfect the next and the weather is set to be in the mid-20’s on both days (dressage and CIC show jumping take place on Saturday) so pull on those shorts and get down to Fig Tree Pocket to watch.
For those who can’t be there, Allira Batstone will be bringing us the action from the Sunshine State’s South East as the event unfolds
Event location: 717 Fig Tree Pocket Road, Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane, Queensland
