NFW Queensland International 3 Day Event – otherwise known as Warwick was wonderful – writes Penny Rose. Pretty much everything about the event was perfect. The location, the people, the weather and the challenging course … I feel as if I have just enjoyed a great holiday.
The event had been given a great boost thanks to sponsorship from National Farmers Warehouse and long may that relationship continue. The going on the cross country course at Warwick was criticised a few years ago and a huge amount of work and aeration of the ground has been carried out on that score and this year the ground was good. The course was designed by Sylvia Roberts who did a fantastic job making it challenging enough but all quite jumpable. Spectators were well looked after and driven round the cross country course in the ‘people mover’ during the running of the cross country phase so they could enjoy lots of action and the parties at night were run with great enthusiasm. Mind you next year it might be a good idea to move the bonfire a little further away from the shed! With officials from around the world (I had a great time showing off some of the local wineries to those officials) and a friendly committee the only thing this event needs next year is more riders.

Ask anyone who made the trip up to Warwick and I’m sure they will tell you that this is an event well worth going to … see you there next year.
