The secretary’s schoolmaster

As secretary of Berrima Horse Trials Tina Stafford (above) recently managed to combine her secretarial commitments and her desire to compete at the same event. Nothing too strange with that you might think as several committee members at events manage to do a similar thing. However one thing that makes Tina’s story a little different is the horse she was riding at Berrima – Unrepentant and if that name rings a bell it’s because Unrepentant was ridden by Chris Burton a few years ago.

Listen to Tina’s story below

When ridden by Chris, Unrepentant clocked up several good 3* performances including wins at CIC3* level in 2006 and 2007 and finished third at Sydney CCI3* in 2006 and 2008. These days the 15.3 thoroughbred gelding is enjoying life without the high level pressure and it’s obvious that Tina is enjoying the experience. "I never knew how to do flying changes before riding 'Mocha' - but I do now ... he is very good to me/"

Tina was quick to get back behind her secretary desk that she shares with Berrima's Treasurer Helen Bryne
