Tonimbuk Horse Trials is back in 2015

One of our favourite saves of all time happened at Tonimbuk in 2013 - see the full sequence and video here

Competitors on the Victorian circuit and further afield will no doubt be delighted that Tonimbuk Horse Trials is back on the calendar in 2015. The event held in Gippsland, Victoria was cancelled in 2014 after the sale of the 160 acre property, previously owned and run as Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre by the Mouser family.

This year the event will be held on March 7th & 8th and a new committee has brought in Ewan Kellett as the course designer for the cross country which runs through true Aussie bush and over undulating terrain. There are plans in the pipeline for even more improvements in future years and we hope to bring you details of those soon.

For now, the important thing is that entries are open on Nominate for all classes which range from EvA80 to CIC3*. The provisional timetable has all dressage classes running on Saturday 7th with the CIC3* dressage back to an afternoon schedule rather than in the evening however the CIC2* and CIC3* will jump in the evening in the indoor arena. All EA 80 and EA 95 classes will show jump on Saturday while the CIC1* and EA 105 will show jump on Sunday.

All classes will run cross country on Sunday with the CIC3* featuring in the middle of the day followed by the 2* and 1* classes. And of course we will be there to video all competitors on cross country as well as cover the event in full on the website for our 4* members – it’s a great event and we’re looking forward to being back at Tonimbuk

Here’s a little taster from 2013 when Murray Lamperd and Under the Clocks took the CIC3* title
