Alex Townsend even finds time to compete as well as running her events at Wallaby Hill
We’re heading to the Hills, Wallaby Hill of course, one of the best eventing venues in Australia for this weekend’s eventing in New South Wales
When we last spoke to Alex Townsend at Wallaby Hill in March she outlined some of her plans for future events at the beautiful venue in the Southern Highlands of NSW. As a part of this Alex and her partner Derek were in the process of acquiring the next door property, enabling them to run longer cross country courses and hopefully one day a full three day event. This isn’t quite happening this weekend as the highest class is the CNC2* but they will be taking advantage of some of the new land on the cross country course which we’re really looking forward to seeing it on our videos!
As a little taster, in March we videoed just a small number of the riders on cross country during the short format Equestrian Triathlon. The video below of Shane Rose and Purbeck Diesel, who are competing in the 2* this weekend, gives a feel for what a great cross country course this is and its potential for future events
Not surprisingly everyone loves going to Wallaby Hill so the eventers are flocking there in droves this weekend. Some are having a final preparation for Adelaide by competing in the Combined Training 4* class but the rest will be tackling the full monty on Saturday and Sunday. Classes include a CNC2*, CNC1*, EvA105, EvA95 and EvA80 so there is something for everyone and Alison Duthie will be keeping us updated from Wallaby Hill on both Saturday and Sunday ........
