Seumas trots up in his Marwood tartan kilt
The second horse inspection came and went this morning with the biggest drama being Seumas Marwood’s kilt, which he wore as he trotted up Wild Oats in the CCI4*. But Wild Oats didn’t need the help of any swishing tartan and he looked in fantastic shape and remains in his overnight eighth place.
In the CCI4* only two riders, Craig Barrett and Sonja Johnson had a moment when the Ground Jury took a little while to come to their decision but the crowd was soon cheering as both horses, Sandhills Brillaire and Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison, were passed.
Pluto Mio looking great this morning
Both of Stuart Tinney’s top horses (Pluto Mio in the CCI4* and Annapurna in the CCI2*) looked fantastic, especially Pluto who looked ready to go out and tackle the cross country course again.
Can Annapurna provide Stuart with his first win of the day ...
In the CCI2* Latitude, ridden by Lara Pizimolas, and PP Rouse About, ridden by young rider Taylor Robertson, were held but passed on re-inspection.
This means that the overnight positions for both classes remain the same and with the scores so close in the CCI4* (less than a rail between the top six riders) the atmospher for this afternoons show jumping will be electric.
In the CCI2* Stuart Tinney doesn’t have a rail in hand between him and second placed Cassie Lowe, who is riding Koko Doro and third placed Ali Foye, riding Kung Fu Panda GP is less than two rails from the leader.
Isabel Houghton (above) leads the young rider CCI2*, which is running within the main CCI2* class, and is sitting on a score of 54.10 just over a rail ahead of second placed Emily Gray and Deltry Invader.
So settle back and enjoy the rest of today’s action coming to you from Victoria Park as we continue our coverage of the Australian International three day event.
