Rain floods the roads around Badminton in 2012
After heavy rain saw the cancellation of the historic Badminton Horse in 2012 several thousands of eventing enthusiasts who missed out last year on their Badminton ‘fix’ will be quick to book their tickets for this years event.
If you have previously booked tickets for Badminton in the last two years you will have been sent a Username and Password and can now book tickets online via our Ticket Kiosk. The Box Office will open for Public Booking on Wednesday 9th January 2013.
Badminton Horse Trials will take place from 2nd – 6th May 2013 with Mitsubishi Motors once again be sponsoring the event, a commitment they undertook in 1992. The 2013 Official Charity for Badminton is Alzeheimer’s Research UK.
This is the trophy every rider wants to take home
Who will be riding at Badminton this year will become clearer as the season unfolds but you can be sure the event is already on the ‘wish list’ of many riders both in UK and overseas. One such rider is Australian Chris Burton who hopes to ride Jean and Jade Findlay’s Holstein Park Leilani, who he partnered at the London Olympics. “I’m pretty excited to be aiming a horse like Leilani at such a prestigious event as Badminton. Hopefully our preparation in the early part of the season will go well and I’ll be lining up alongside lots of other riders with the main aim being to take home the winners trophy.”
While the riders concentrate on the preperation of their horses lots of people will flock to Badminton for the shopping with hundreds of tradestands providing everything from kitchen tables to socks!
In the meantime no doubt the Badminton organisers will be praying for good weather over the next few months with just a sprinkling of rain every now and then!
