The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials Box Office opens today to those currently on the database and to the rest of the general public on January 13th
Ticket prices and options are already on the new-look Badminton website and personal admission tickets start at £5 with cross country day tickets costing £25. In 2014 Equestrian Team GBR will benefit from funds raised at Badminton as the event will be supporting the British equestrian teams bound for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy from August 27-13 September.
The good news for the eighty plus riders who will start the Event is that the prize money has had a considerable boost, with the winner receiving £80,000, up from £65,000 in 2013, and the increases are also reflected in the lower placings down to 20th place.
This year Badminton has reverted to its traditional timetable with cross country on Saturday and the jumping and prize presentations on Sunday with the main event taking place from Wednesday 7th May - Sunday 11th May.
The very popular Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Championships is also back and will be held on the Badminton Estate on the 6th and 7th May. To create the opportunity for more aspiring amateur riders to take part in this much anticipated competition, British Eventing extended entries for the BE100 section at the 2014 event so that riders that received a result in the top 35 percent of a Grassroots Regional Final qualifier in 2013 are now be eligible to enter this year’s Championships rather than the initial 20 percent.
It will be a big week at the big house in Gloucestershire and An Eventful Life will be providing coverage of the event for our 4* members direct from the event. It won’t be long now!
