Bring on Badminton, says Paul Tapner

The last time we saw Paul Tapner and Inonothing in Australian colours was at the 2010 WEG in Kentucky (pictured above) - are they on track to again don the green and gold?

Paul and Inonothing are certainly back in form having taken second place at the very competitive Belton Horse Trials in the UK. The winner was Sarah Cohen and Treason who added only 6 cross country time penalties to their dressage score while Paul and Inonothing added only 5.6 time on cross country to their dressage score to finish on 56.90. Paul also took 12th place in the same class on Kilronan.

Paul delightedly exclaimed on Twitter “Yeeha! Back in the game on Inonothing! Double clear for second place in the CIC 3* at Belton from approx 150 starters, bring on Badminton Horse Trials!”

In the same class class Sam Griffiths and Happy Times were 28th and Emma Dougall riding Kelecyn Ice Age were 30th out of 80 riders who completed the event

In the Advanced Section N Sam had a good ride to take 3rd place on Paulank Brockagh while Paul was 6th on Wickstead Didgeridoo and Andrew Hoy 14th on Rutherglen. Catherine Burrelll and Urzan were 17th, Bill Levett riding Ballymore Rich Cat was 24th and 29th on One Two many NJ and Samantha Seaton was 28th on Earl’s Court

I’m having difficulty getting the full results for the Advanced Section O. I believe that Andrew Nicholson and Avebury were 1st, Sarah Stretton and Skip On 2nd and Caroline Powell and Lenamore 3rd but yet to find out how the other placings went.

With luck we’ll find out more in a report coming up soon by Dominic of talking horse blog in the UK

Bring on Badminton indeed!
