Boyd Martin has taken the ride on Ludwig Svennerstal’s Shamwari 4. Boyd announced on his blog that the German bred 11 year old gelding that competed as part of the Swedish team at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be purchased by a new syndicate of owners he is putting together.
“He’s superb in the dressage, often scoring in the 30’s; a brilliant, bold, fast cross-country horse and a talented show jumper” says Boyd who tried the horse in the UK recently (see video below)
More recently Ludwig and Shamwari finished 10th individually at the FEI European Championships in Malmo, Sweden and were part of the silver medal winning Swedish team.
Boyd is no doubt hoping for the rapid success that Australian rider Chris Burton has enjoyed with one of Ludwig’s previous rides, Tempranillo, a horse that Chris bought from Ludwig in 2013.
