Mary King suspended

Poor Mary King is unable to compete until August 9th following a second yellow card at Bramham. She received a yellow card at Le Lion d’Angers in October last year riding Cavalier Venture and she is very contrite on her blog

“I have some very embarrassing news and felt I should let you know before you read it in the press. I received a yellow card at Bramham Horse Trials last weekend…I was given one last year and if you receive 2 within a 12 month period you are suspended for 2 months which means I am unable to event from now until August 9th

“I had a couple of younger horses doing some events during June and July, so Emily my daughter is going to ride them. I love my horses and love the sport, I am very sorry this has happened”

The FEI rule states:

General Regulations (23rd edition, effective 1st January 2014)

Art 169.7.2 Penalties

Should the same Person Responsible receive one (1) more Yellow Warning Card at the same or any other International Event within one year of the delivery of the first Yellow Warning Card, the Person Responsible shall be automatically suspended for a period of two (2) months after official notification from the FEI Secretary General.
