Gemma and Chilli's Gem at Le Lion d'Angers 2016
With the recent retirement to stud of Chilli Morning, we thought we might re-visit our interview with Gemma Tattersall about her 'Chilli babies'
Gemma tells us about the breeding programme at Chris Stone’s Tattleton Stud which is producing some beautifully bred eventing horses such as the first progeny by Chilli Morning out of the proven 3* mare King’s Gem, the six year old chestnut mare Chilli’s Gem
Since this interview at Chilham Park in 2015 the now eight year old Chilli's Gem has gone on to finish third in the 2015 KBIS British Eventing CICYH1* and seventh in the CCI2* at 2016 Le Lion d'Angers Young Horse Championships, among many other placings.
Her full brother Chilli's Knight, now seven years old, also had a good season in 2016, finishing third in the CIC1* at Gatcombe Park and eighth in the 2016 KBIS British Eventing CICYH1* - definitely two Chilli chestnuts to watch in the future
And if you want to see how good these Chilli babies are, watch Gemma and Chilli Knight eat up the cross country to win the Novice in July 2016 at Brightling Park here
