Mystery Whisper competes for the USA at London 2012 with Phillip Dutton
This weekend sees the Auction of the Stars at Ryans at Newcastle Equestrian Centre, Heatherbrae, NSW.
One of the horses for sale is the 11 year old 16.1h bay gelding Bradgate Park Magnum, the full brother to Phillip Dutton’s Olympic mount, Mystery Whisper.
Under Heath Ryan, who took Mystery Whisper up to the top level of eventing in Australia, Magnum was campaigned pre-novice with many wins in eventing and dressage, where he was competing elementary, schooling medium. According to the Auction of the Stars catalogue, since then he has been a great schoolmaster, teaching his young rider the higher movements including flying changes and pirouettes.
Heath says that “Cross-country, he is fast, clever at a fence, and bold. Showjumping, he is very scopey, with great technique, and he bascules classically.
Magnum has taken a nervous but talented rider from completing jumps of 80cm to jumping 135cm comfortably. His performances include top 10 State pony club dressage, winning combined training and achieving runner-up in eventing.
Magnum is being offered for sale due to the rider’s health issues, which prevent her from continuing to event. Whilst a hard decision, eventing is what Magnum was born to do and with the right rider Magnum will go all the way to the 2016 Olympics.”
Both horses are by the imported stallion Richmeed Medallion out of a Salute mare, Socialite
If you can’t get to Newcastle this weekend but fancy buying Magnum you can even put in a phone bid (no doubt the phone will ringing hot from amateur riders in the USA!)
