Burghley House
Although 84 horses have been accepted for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials with all other qualified entries placed on a waiting list (around 25 riders are on that waiting list), organisers have made the decision to accept 90 riders, due to the numbers of entries they have received. The wait-list riders will be accepted in order as and when there are withdrawals, up to Monday 27 August 2012.
With six Australians, including Megan Jones and Tim Boland, keen to put their mark on the 51st running at Burghley, it might mean a few more late nights as we try to keep up with what is happening on the other side of the world.
Thankfully the popular ‘video on demand’ service, Burghley.TV, is now available on the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials website, where you can watch Captain Mark Phillips’ preview of the 2012 cross-country course and view this year’s course map and fence guide. The ‘free to view’ service will also enable you to replay your favourite rider's dressage, cross country and show jumping rounds just minutes after the real thing.

It certainly wont be plain sailing for the Australians with Olympic silver medallists, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King and Tina Cook amongst the draw on their ‘reserve’ Olympic horses.

Debbie will be at Burghley covering the whole event for us and will no doubt catch up with several of the Aussie riders for a quick chat.
So get ready for another weekend of great eventing and in the meantime relive some of the memories of this iconic British event
