William Fox-Pitt wins the Series for the fourth time
The FEI Classics™ Series, which covers the six CCI4* eventing competitions around the world, reached its climax for the year at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.
William Fox-Pitt retained his place at the top of the leaderboard, with an accumulated 38 points. He wins the series for the fourth time, and takes home the $40,000 top prize. William collected his points with wins at both Pau (FRA) and Rolex (USA), plus his Burghley fourth place today.
Sam Griffiths' third place at Burghley, on top of his Badminton win, gives him 25 points and the runner up prize fund of $35,000. Oliver Townend drops one rank to third with an eighth place Burghley following a runner up spot at Badminton and a fourth place at Luhmuhlen; he collects $25,000.
Burghley winner Andrew Nicholson finishes fourth, taking home $15,000, Tim Price securing the remaining monetary award of $5,000.
