We’ll be bringing you a very special At Home feature video with Caroline Powell very soon but in the meantime, here’s a look at Caroline and Greenacres Special Cavalier as part of our “Ones to Watch’ for 2023
The now 10-year-old mare Greenacres Special Cavalier, owned by Chris Mann, shot into contention as a real prospect for New Zealand at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in 2022.
They took third place in both the CCI4*-L at Ballindenisk (IRE) and the CCI4*-S 8/9 Year Old Championship at Blenheim Palace International before an impressive CCI5* debut at Les Etoiles de Pau for fifth place
As the season progressed, the mare’s dressage scores improved, culminating in a 27.7 at 5* level in October, and her show jumping stats have been consistently impressive over the year, including a clean sheet for the entire 2022 season
The cross country is also a joy to watch (although Caroline admits it hasn’t been the easiest of journeys to get to this point, with the mare being quite feisty) and we can’t wait to see what they do in 2023
