Lucinda Fredericks and Flying Finish at Luhmuhlen 2014
Lucinda Fredericks’ horse Flying Finish that has been based with New Zealander Caroline Powell while Lucinda recovered from a spiral fracture of the humerus has been confirmed as sold
Flying Finish and Lucinda finished an emotional second at Luhmuhlen in 2012, securing their selection for the Australian team at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Although Lucinda is obviously sad to say goodbye to the horse that has been her top mount for the past three years she says that the sale “has been very important towards securing my and Ellie’s future at Rosegarth as our home and training base”.
Lucinda added “I will always be very grateful to Richard Ames for stepping in to help me keep the ride on Flying Finish soon after the Olympics, we have had a lot of fun and success over the last few years. Flying Finish will now be ridden by Caroline Powell who is an amazing cross country rider. I am honoured that she has taken him on, it will be exciting to see the new partnership competing next season”.
The New Zealand team bronze medallist Caroline, who is based at Richard Ames’ yard in Suffolk, has already had her first run on Flying Finish at Allerton Park in September where the pair was sixth in the Open Intermediate
Lucinda has also sold MR Sydney Rocks to US eventing rider Allison Springer
