Chilli Morning - the first stallion to win at Badminton
The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Chairman Jennie Loriston-Clarke presented eventing horse owner Christopher Stone with a special SHB (GB) award in recognition of the achievements of his stallion Chilli Morning at the British Breeders dinner in London on Saturday 16th January
Ridden by William Fox-Pitt, the 16 year old Chilli Morning became the first stallion ever to win the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in May last year. The combination has also been a part of the British three-day event team winning team silver at the World Equestrian Games in 2014 and has also won individual bronze at the 2013 European Championships and individual bronze at the WEG in 2014.
The German-bred Chilli Morning (Phantomic xx-Kolibri) is also a successful sire. In October his daughter Chilli’s Gem, bred by Mr Stone and ridden by Gemma Tattersall, was the recipient of the Welton Romance trophy for the highest placed British-bred mare thanks to her third place in the KBIS British Eventing Young Horse Championships 6 Year Old Championship at Osberton
