At the recent Wallaby Hill one day event we bumped into Clara Palm, sister of event rider Robert Palm, who is returning to eventing after a four year break. The last event Clara rode at was Adelaide 2008 where she finished 6th in the CCI2* on her lovely horse Bayard but now she is looking forward to campaigning an off the track thoroughbred called Envious.
“It’s great to be back eventing and it’s interesting to see just how much has changed in the sport in the time I’ve been away from it. There seems to be a lot of new gear out there for the horses and various new rules so it will probably take me a while to get back into the swing of things, but I’m looking forward to it.”
We also spoke about the work Clara is doing these days, where is combining a 'proper' job with her love of horses.
