The famous British author Jilly Cooper is all set to take on the flat racing world through her ability to write bestsellers. Her last book, Jump!, was set in the jump racing world but it appears Jilly now has a passion for the pure speed of horses galloping on the flat.
In the name of ‘research’ Jilly has attended some of Britian’s top race meetings including the Guineas, the Derby, Ascot and Goodwood.
“I never understood why people liked sprints, but now I do,” she said. “I’m fascinated by the breeding side and the sense of dynasty, and of course, the men are so charming and dress so beautifully.”
Jilly is known for her 'raunchy' style of books and wrote the famous book Riders back in the mid-1980s. Since then she has taken several of her books into the world of horses.
For the moment, there is no publication date on the new book but to get you in the mood of all things racing this is what Jilly had to say about her previous book, Jump!
