Equestrian Australia (EA) has finalised plans with Nominate to deliver the sport’s future online membership and event registration platform.
Equestrian Australia Chairman Dr Warwick Vale said working with Nominate was considered the best fit for the sport moving forward.
“Nominate’s proposal was one of nine considered by EA as part of a rigorous Expressions Of Interest process (EOI) led by the external group Synergy Corporate Technologies, representatives from the state branches and Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
“The ultimate decision however was made by the Board which was presented with the proposals of the top two candidates, as determined by those involved in the review of the EOI’s.
“Nominate has a high level of equine industry knowledge and a proven ability to deliver reliable and user friendly online solutions for equine sports.
“The Board chose the most cost effective solution offered through an open competitive tender process,” said Dr Vale.
EA’s current online membership system - EA Online, was developed by Nominate and has been widely recognised for its ease of use for both members and the states.
“With this framework already in place, it is now a matter of working with Nominate to build on the base system and provide continued enhancements for the equestrian community,” said Dr Vale.
The project will be overseen by an IT steering committee consisting of EA and state branch management who will seek feedback from states and organising committees to ensure the functionality meets the needs of the sport.
“Delivering an effective IT solution for the benefit of members, clubs and event organisers is an important priority for the board and we look forward to working with Nominate to deliver a membership and event management system that is a benchmark within the sports horse industry,” said Dr Vale.
Users of EA Online will notice enhancements to the platform progressively over the coming 12 months with the project due for completion in November 2015.
