70 riders finally started in the CCI 2* XC test on Saturday morning on a technical course designed by Pierre Michelet.
7 were eliminated after 3 refusals and 3 retired. Several fences posed a problem for some riders, but the n°10 b rapidly became the « juge de paix ». Situated at the entrance of the racetrack, the n°10 was composed of a small bank-up followed on left hand by a narrow skinny that 19 horses refused. 8 couples finished the course inside the time allowed (5'28''). The fastest track has been done by Pierre Le Grix de la Salle (FRA) in 5'18''. 2 riders realized the ideal time: Karim Laghouag (FRA) riding Qurt de Montplaisir (nom lying in 3rd) and Cpt. Thibault Valette (FRA) with Qing du Briot*ENE HN (now in 13th place). Second after the dressage test, the former Olympic gold medallist Arnaud Boiteau did a wonderful tour aboard his dark bay Quoriano, clear on the fences and inside the time. A result that dressage leader Karin Donckers hasn't been able to do with her experienced Charizard (5th). Thanks to some seconds over the time allowed for former 2nd Bertrand Vuatoux (FRA) with Quirikou Bougaux, Nicolas Touzaint (FRA) / Hildago de l'Ile and Karim Laghouag (FRA) / Qurt de Montplaisir climbed on 2nd and 3rd places.
