The audience, gathered under the covered grandstand, had to wait till the last competitor to know the final winner of this 2 Star competition. Arnaud Boiteau (FRA), rider at the National Riding School of Saumur and former Olympic gold medallist, did not touch any fence on the show jumping test with his Coriano's son, Quoriano.
« I'm really proud to see how my horse progresses event after event. He's really great at the dressage test: very chic, with wonderful movement, still presenting very well in the arena » said Arnaud.
Very easy on the cross country, coming back home 3 seconds below the allowed time, he secured a clear round today on the SJ test, keeping the 1st place. Thanks to another clear round with his second mount Parador du Foussal, Arnaud finished also 7th. One fence down for Nicolas Touzaint (FRA), riding his Badminton's winner Hildago de l'Ile, put him down to the 6th place, letting Karim Laghouag (FRA) confirming a good 2nd place riding Qurt de Montplaisir. The first foreign rider is Karin Donckers (BEL) who did a really good show with Lamicell Charizard, which is already qualified for the Olympic Games.
« I'm really happy of that result. I was a bit disappointed after the XC test with 13 seconds late. Charizard made 3 strides in the double fence – against 2 – and I could not catch on the delay. But I'm pretty reassured now » said the Belgian champion.
