Did anyone else notice that blue jackets – quite bright blue jackets – were the big thing in 2016? Andrew Hoy, Ingrid Klimke and Norway’s Hans Bauer are three that come to mind when we think of those colourful folk on the eventing circuit this year

Of course we’re used to seeing team colours – the Irish naturally ride in dark green, the Aussies wear red coats for show jumping and our team favourite is the Dutch orange.
But maybe the push for ‘trendy outfits’ in eventing to attract more spectators will lead to more vibrant colours in 2017 - pink, yellow, or maybe even striped (must make a note to look up jacket rules)? Just a thought ....
