Giuseppe della Chiesa, who stood down from his role as cross country course designer for Badminton in 2016, is eligible for re-election as Chair of Eventing Committee
The FEI is advertising for the positions of Chair of Eventing Committee and Member of Eventing Committee and is encouraging women to nominate
The FEI ais now advertising the list of all positions open for election and appointment at the 2017 FEI General Assembly. The list includes the Chair of Eventing Committee (including Member of Bureau) and Member of Eventing Committee, both of which are four year posts, commencing after the appointment endorsed at the 2017 FEI General Assembly
The current Chair of Eventing is Italy’s Giuseppe della Chiesa who is eligible for re-appointment for the period 2017 – 2012 while Poland’s Marcin Konarski, the Event Director and cross country course designer for the Strzegom Horse Trials, will not be standing for re-election.
New for the 2017 elections will be the requirement for candidates to sign a Rule of Conduct document ‘in order to keep the FEI Governance standards high and following a recommendation from the Association of Summer Olympic International Federation (ASOIF) Governance Task Force’
The FEI is also keen to foster gender equity and diversity among the members of the FEI Committees saying that
‘The FEI Bureau strongly encourages the National Federations to nominate female candidates and representatives of developing nations. The FEI views with immense pride the fact that equestrian sport is one of very few where men and women compete as equals at all levels of international, as well as national, competition’
