New Zealand’s Tim and Jonelle Price will rock on into 2023 as the World Number One (557 points) and Two (519 points) on the FEI World Eventing Rankings as at 30th December 2022

Tim first held the top spot in June 2019 and has been in the top 10 ever since then, finishing the year in the top spot on 557 points while Jonelle is in second place on 519 points, possibly the first married couple to hold the Number One and Two spots at the same time

Former World Champion Ros Canter (GBR) rounds out the top three after a strong year at all levels on 509 points

Oliver Townend (GBR), who held the top spot at the end of 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018, has slipped to fourth place but that is still dangerously close. Ros and Oliver are joined by two more fellow British riders in the Top 10 with the new World Champion, Yasmin Ingham in sixth place and Piggy March in 9th

Will Coleman (USA) is in fifth place, one of three American riders in the top 10 with Tamie Smith in eighth place and Boyd Martin in 10th

Michael Jung is the only German rider in the top 10 (7th place) while Shane Rose is the top ranked Australian rider in 19th place and the only Australian in the top 50

Also in the top 20 are Switzerland’s Felix Vogg (16th), Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto (17th) and the highest ranked French rider is Gaspard Maksud, just outside of the top 20 in 22nd place

Ireland has four riders in the Top 50 with Susie Berry topping the Irish contingent in 38th place

With no ranking competitions in the Northern Hemisphere, there were few changes from the previous month but Monica Spencer, a member of the bronze medal New Zealand winning team at Pratoni 2022, moved from 46th to 41st thanks to a win and second place at Puhinui International in December

Antipodeans will also get an early start in 2023 with events kicking off in February as the new season begins
