The British Horse Society has welcomed four new equestrian greats to join the equestrian Hall of Fame including Lucinda Fredericks’ eventing mare Headley Britannia
The BHS Hall of Fame celebrates the heroes and heroines — human and equine — of the equestrian world. Each year a select number of Britain’s most gifted horses and riders are invited to join the elite group.
This year, the tenth anniversary of the Hall of Fame, the 4* eventing mare Headley Britannia owned and ridden by Lucinda Fredericks along with show jumping stars Scott Brash and Hello Sanctos and showing rider and producer, Jayne Ross were inducted on 26th November.
Lucinda and two of her grooms, Emily Young-Jamieson and Jackie Hoon, attended an awards ceremony on Thursday 26th November at the Household Cavalry / Knightsbridge Barracks in London to celebrate Headley Britannia’s inclusion. Emily was Lucinda’s previous Head Girl who groomed for Headley Britannia at the Beijing Olympics and other key events whileJackie, Lucinda’s current Yard Manager/Senior Groom, also spent a lot of time caring and grooming for the mare during her years at Rosegarth
“Receiving this recognition means that Brit has been appreciated in the highest possible way for all her efforts. I feel extremely proud of her, I always will. To get this accolade is a true honour and a justified recognition of her sheer guts and determination – all she wanted to do was win” said Lucinda
Plaques to commemorate all laureates in the Hall of Fame are displayed on the wall of the Household Cavalry's barracks in South Carriage Drive, Knightsbridge, West London by kind permission of the Commanding Officer.
