At the recent Cockatoo Jump Trials we were fascinated to see that the vet check at the end of cross country was being performed by the vet Matthew Redgewell using an iPhone!
Matthew kindly showed us how the iPhone attachment called the AliveCor, which is simply part of an iPhone casing, used in conjunction with a downloadable app can give an instant digital heart rate and ECG. The reports are also uploaded to the cloud so that your vet can access them at any time or can immediately be sent from the phone for further analysis if a problem is detected in the field
We’re certainly no veterinary gurus but just think it’s a really cool product. We thought we’d show you how it works in this video, even though it’s demonstrated on a dog, because we can’t resist Labradors with waggy tails
