Izzy Taylor and Monkeying Around are heading to the FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses 2017 at Le Lion d’Angers later this month
“It’s quite an ask for a six year old to head to the World Championships” explains Izzy “Often they’ve never done a long format Three Day Event so they’ve never galloped for over eight minutes”
We caught up with Izzy at Osberton where she competed several horses in the KBIS British Eventing Young Horse Championships, including Monkeying Around and Artful Trinity in the CICYH1*, and found out more about Izzy’s approach to preparing young horses for such Championships and their future career
“It’s always about the bigger picture with these nice young horses. It’s important that they come out of it feeling proud of themselves and then they’re ready to go to the next step”
Izzy’s Head Girl and travelling groom Anna Mildner was also kind enough to introduce us to Artful Trinity as she prepared him for competition and show us how to apply the Flair Equine Nasal Strips worn by all of Izzy’s horses
