There was a full house for this years IEF
The International Eventing Forum is the result of the coming together of a group of experts in the sport of Eventing – Eric Smiley, Jean Mitchell and Karen McKeown. Between them they have nearly a century of experience in the sport and they saw the need for an informative, inspiring and yet accessible forum for riders and trainers to come together to improve their riding and training techniques.
The ideas of these experts have turned the annual International Eventing Forum (IEF) at Hartpury College into an essential date in the diary for Professional and Amateur riders at all levels. Plans for 2014 will see the IEF join forces with British Eventing under the banner ‘Raise the Game, and promises an even greater in-depth learning experience on a variety of essential topics related to competitive riding making tickets for this unmissable day a Christmas present that will be remembered.
Despite their achievements - from winning Olympic Gold medals to designing Olympic cross country courses, the interactive format of the IEF always ensures that attendees can get close up and personal with the speakers. There is also a special discount on tickets bought before the end of December 2013, so why not give the gift of knowledge this Christmas, with tickets to the 2014 International Eventing Forum!
Since its inception the IEF has shown its prowess in the sphere of Eventing training, with the list of previous speakers reading like a who’s who of ‘Eventing Royalty’. Sir Mark Todd, David O’Connor, Mike Etherington-Smith, William Fox-Pitt, Chris Bartle and many more of the world’s eventing elite have shared their wisdom with attendees in previous years.
Ian Woodhead was just one of the popular speakers
And we'll finish with a couple of quotes from Sir Mark Todd who was at IEF:
'Always finish an exercise with a proper transition to walk, don't just fall into a heap.'
'After 3 strides there is no correct number of strides. The more adjustable your horse, the more options u have.'
If you plan to enhance your riding and training skills in 2014, you should mark Monday 3rd of February 2014 in your diary today and book tickets
