Louise Barnes on the cross country course at Canberra, riding Henry's Dream
Louise Barnes was very happy with her sixth place in the CNC* at Canberra last weekend. The result meant that the combination of Louise and her horse Henry’s Dream have now collected several ribbons at 1* level including third placings at Sydney and Berrima. However what makes Louise’s story slightly different from most other riders is that she has made an amazing recovery from Hodgkin's lymphoma (a blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system) which saw her miss a year of her beloved eventing.
We asked Louise to tell us more about those trying times and as you can hear from her interview below she explains that it was her love for horses and competing that helped her keep going when the going was tough.
