Last year we covered one of Jock Paget’s clinics when he was back in New Zealand teaching the NZ Young Rider Squad. He was back again in his home country doing some clinics last week in the lead up to Kihikihi and Libby Law sat in (or rather, ran around, taking photos!) at some of the sessions at Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre
She chatted to Jock at the end of a long day’s teaching and found out more about his coaching in New Zealand and the UK, how he is managing to stay positive in the current situation and where he draws inspiration from in his own riding
“The process is the process and, as much as I’m not enjoying not being able to compete right now, there has to be rules around these things” says Jock, who nevertheless is still hoping to make the New Zealand team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy this year
